Management Consulting for Nonprofits & Public Agencies

Every leader faces thorny problems alone. They don’t have to.

I am a thought partner, strategic advisor, and expert policy writer who takes direct responsibility for the complex work that moves your mission forward.

59 grants written · 31 won · A 53% success rate — more than double the industry standard

What to Do When You Don’t Know Where to Start

I work at the intersection of strategy and execution — thinking deeply about complex problems, then producing the written work that drives real solutions. Focused on health and human services, I provide three core services:

Securing Resources — Grant Writing & Funding Strategy

I specialize in assessing right-fit opportunities, developing relationships and credibility that attract support, and writing well-crafted proposals that rely on solid logic models and best practices. Across my career I have won over half of the proposals written.

Developing Innovation — Program Design & Development

Elegant program design is grounded in evidence, community values, and fundable structure, with realistic budgets that support the project. I help organizations design new approaches to tackle stubborn problems, and build the case for why they work.

Ensuring Quality — Compliance, Reporting & Evaluation

This is the work after the win: post-award compliance, program manuals, dissemination of best practices, and funder reports that demonstrate impact and build accountability. I have personally administered 13 awarded grants.

The Right Partner For High Stakes And Hard Problems

I work with nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and mission-driven providers — decision makers facing complex challenges who need a strategic partner and experienced policy developer in their corner.

People call me for strategic firepower on demand — serious thinking and serious writing when the stakes are high. I built my expertise over decades in California health and human services policy; today I serve organizations nationwide, with recent projects in California, New York, Arizona, Nevada, and Maine.

What that looks like in practice

Three services, one standard: senior-level strategic thinking and policy writing to back it up.

Grant Success Rate

More than double the industry standard

Designed and advocated for over $140 million in public mental health investments · $2.1M+ raised for clients · 85+ organizations served · 27+ years of experience in health, behavioral health, aging, and disability services.

Securing Resources

Compelling proposals that align your mission with funder priorities — from needs assessment and funding strategy through letters of inquiry, full applications, and budget narratives. I have won 31 grant awards over my career, including a successful 2025 Mother Cabrini Health Foundation proposal for a Black-serving community-based organization in Buffalo, New York.

Developing Innovation

Evidence-based program models designed for impact and structured for fundability. I helped design the funding priorities implementing California’s Mental Health Services Act — including $140 million in statewide stigma-reduction and student mental health initiatives that were adopted and implemented, as well as collaborating with other leaders to establish a $60 million initiative to reduce disparities in mental health care.

Ensuring Quality and Compliance

The work after the win, done right: post-award administration and compliance, integrated program manuals, white papers and dissemination of best practices, and impactful funder reports. I have personally administered 13 awarded grants and built operational systems for providers in 4 states.
